The Camp Randall project was one of the best, if not the best, projects I have been associated with, from almost all facets. I attribute that directly to your Cullen Smith’s management and execution of the project, your interactions with the owner, and your dealings with your subcontractors… Your firm’s positive approach to the project was not just evident in a few individuals – I felt it from your company’s principals, project managers, superintendents, foremen, and field personnel. I find this to be a rare occurrence, and I believe you should be congratulated for it.

New Holstein Middle School

85,000 square feet
Cost: $12 Million
Architect: Bray Associates

C.D. Smith provided construction services for the construction of New Holstein’s Middle School and an expansion and renovation of their high school and elementary school.

Construction included a two-and-a-half story commons area with an open staircase and stainless steel railings. The new middle school was built to prevent overcrowding of the old Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade facility. The new facility will allow for growth in the district.

A new fitness center was built at the middle school and is open to the entire New Holstein community. New technology built into classrooms include smartboards (interactive light boards) and touch screen computers. In math class for example, teachers can touch a screen and pull up a xy-graphing grid or a calculator.

Modifications at the high school level include the expansion of the vocational agriculture area, which includes a greenhouse, more room in the cafeteria, increased physical education equipment areas and a girls’ varsity locker room.
